✧ I attended the Eid prayer with Umar. He began with the prayer before the sermon, then said: The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade fasting on these two days. As for the day of Adha, you eat from your sacrifices; as for the day of Fitr, it is your breaking of fast after your fasting. He said: I also attended it with Uthman. He began with the prayer before the sermon, and it coincided with a Friday. He said: This is a day on which two Eids have come together. Whoever is here from the people of al-Awali, we have given him permission: if he wishes, he may return, and if he wishes to stay, he may stay. Then I attended it with Ali. He began with the prayer before the sermon and said: None of you should eat from his sacrifice beyond three days.
