✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us after the afternoon prayer until the sun was nearly setting. Those who memorized it memorized it, and those who forgot it forgot it. He praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: To proceed: indeed, the world is sweet and green, and Allah is making you successors in it and is watching how you act. So beware of the world and beware of women. Indeed, every betrayer will have a banner in proportion to his betrayal, and there is no betrayal greater than the betrayal of a leader of a group. Indeed, the best of men is one who is slow to anger and quick to calm down, and the worst of men is one who is quick to anger and slow to calm down. If he is quick to anger and quick to calm down, then it is as it is. If he is slow to anger and slow to calm down, then it is as it is. Indeed, the best of merchants is one who is good in repayment and good in seeking, and the worst of merchants is one who is bad in repayment and bad in seeking. If a man is bad in repayment and good in seeking, then it is as it is. If a man is good in repayment and bad in seeking, then it is as it is. Indeed, anger is a live coal kindled in the heart of the son of Adam. Do you not see his eyes and the swelling of his veins? So whoever senses any of that, let him cling to the ground. And let not any of you be prevented by awe of people from speaking the truth when he knows it. Indeed, the most excellent jihad is a word of truth in the presence of a tyrannical ruler. Then when the sun was nearly setting, he said: Indeed, the amount of the world that has passed compared to what remains of it is like the amount of this day of ours that has passed compared to what remains.
