Sunan Abi Dawud 3213

Supplicating For The Deceased When He Is Placed In His Grave

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

كَانَ إِذَا وَضَعَ الْمَيِّتَ فِي الْقَبْرِ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ هَذَا لَفْظُ مُسْلِمٍ

Translation

When the Prophet ﷺ placed the dead in the grave, he said: In the name of Allah, and following the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. This is Muslim's version.
