machine translation"This is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) than the first hadith," meaning the hadith of Qutaybah, from Abū ʿAwānah, from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā, is more authentic than the hadith of Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī, from Sufyān al-Thawrī, from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā. This is because Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī, although he is trustworthy and reliable (thiqah thabt), sometimes makes mistakes in the hadith of al-Thawrī, as stated in al-Taqrīb.
