✧ Whoever makes an image will be punished on the Day of Resurrection until he breathes a soul into it, and he will not be able to breathe into it. Whoever listens to the speech of a people while they dislike that their speech be listened to, molten lead will be poured into his ear. Whoever falsely claims a dream will be given a barley grain and punished until he ties a knot between its two ends, and he will not be able to tie it.

machine translationThere is disagreement about it concerning ʿIkrimah. Qatādah narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Abū Hurayrah, and there is disagreement from him about whether it was raised (marfūʿ): Hammām and al-Ḥakam b. ʿAbd al-Malik raised it from Qatādah, while Abū ʿAwānah made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf) from Qatādah. Abū Hāshim al-Rummānī narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Abū Hurayrah as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated it from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās. Both versions are preserved (maḥfūẓ).
