✧ I was at the funeral of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Samura, and Ziyād and men from his clients were walking on their heels in front of the bier, saying: "Gently, gently, may Allah bless you!" He said: Abū Bakra caught up with them in one of the alleys of al-Mirbad, and he charged at them on the mule and struck at them with the whip, and said: "Let go, by the One who honored the face of Abū al-Qāsim ﷺ, I have seen us in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ almost trotting with it."
