✧ I asked al-Bara' b. 'Azib what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked or forbade regarding sacrificial animals. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us like this—and my hand is shorter than his hand—and said: 'Four will not suffice: the one-eyed whose defect is evident, the sick whose illness is evident, the lame whose lameness is evident, and the broken one that has no marrow.' I said: I dislike that there be a defect in the teeth or in the horn or in the ear. He said: 'Whatever you dislike of it, leave it, but do not forbid it to anyone.'
