✧ From Shu'bah, and this wording is the hadith of Abu al-'Abbas. He said: I heard Sulayman b. 'Abd al-Rahman say: I heard 'Ubayd b. Fayruz say: I said to al-Bara': Tell me what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked or forbade among sacrificial animals. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, gesturing with his hand like this—and my hand is shorter than the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ—: "Four are not sufficient as sacrificial animals: the one-eyed whose blindness is evident, the sick whose sickness is evident, the lame whose lameness is evident, and the emaciated that has no marrow." I said: I dislike that there be any defect in the ear or horn. He said: "Whatever you dislike, leave it, but do not forbid it to others."
