✧ We were with Jarir b. 'Abdullah on a military expedition, and we were struck by severe hunger. Jarir wrote to Mu'awiya: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him.' He said: So Mu'awiya wrote back that they should return. He said: And he provisioned them.
