✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf ؓ by the hand... and he mentioned the hadith concerning the affair of Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: 'This is only mercy. Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy. O Ibrahim, were it not that it is a true matter, a truthful promise, and a path we all must take, and that our latter ones will join our former ones, we would have grieved over you with grief stronger than this. And indeed we are grieved over you. The eye sheds tears, the heart grieves, and we do not say what displeases the Lord.'
