✧ A daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to him that her son was dying and she would like him to come. He sent back greetings and said, 'To Allah belongs what He takes and what He gives, and everything with Him has an appointed term. Let her be patient and seek reward.' She sent the messenger back, adjuring him to come. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, and with him were Mu'adh b. Jabal, Sa'd, and Ubayy b. Ka'b. He said, 'The child was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and his soul was rattling in his chest. The eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ overflowed. Sa'd said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is this?" He said, "This is mercy that Allah places in the hearts of whomever He wills of His servants, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has mercy on His servants only those who are merciful."
