حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَرْجِسَ، قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قَبَّلَ الْحَجَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي أُقَبِّلُكَ، وَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ، وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ
Translation

✧ I saw 'Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ kiss the Stone, then say: 'I kiss you, and I know that you are a stone. Were it not that I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ kiss you, I would not kiss you.'
