حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْهَجَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ:

" إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ، وَارْضَخْ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ، وَلَا تُلَامُ عَلَى كَفَافٍ، الْأَيْدِي ثَلَاثَةٌ: يَدُ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْعُلْيَا، وَيَدُ الْمُعْطِي الَّتِي تَلِيهَا، وَيَدُ السَّائِلِ السُّفْلَى إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Translation

✧ When Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen upon you. Give from what is surplus, and begin with those you support. You are not blamed for having just enough. Hands are three: the hand of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is the highest; the hand of the giver is next to it; and the hand of the beggar is the lowest until the Day of Resurrection.
