حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: أَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ: أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ. عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَرَآنِي سَيِّئَ الْهَيْئَةِ، فَقَالَ: هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، كُلُّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ، فَقَالَ: " إِذَا كَانَ لَكَ مَالٌ فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ

✧ I entered upon the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he saw me in a disheveled state. He said: Do you have any wealth? He said: Yes, all kinds of wealth God has given me. He said: If you have wealth, then let it be seen upon you.
