حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:

" قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالدَّيْنِ قَبْلَ الْوَصِيَّةِ، وَأَنْتُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ: مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصِي بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ وَأَنَّ أَعْيَانَ بَنِي الْأُمِّ يَتَوَارَثُونَ دُونَ بَنِي الْعَلَّاتِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  5. ʿAlī

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that debt comes before the bequest, while you recite: after any bequest or debt. Full brothers from the same mother inherit, but not half-brothers from different mothers.
