The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the debt takes precedence over the bequest, though you recite it as: {after any bequest that is made or any debt}. And the full siblings, the sons of the same mother, inherit from one another, to the exclusion of the half-siblings by the same father (banū al-ʿallāt). A man inherits from his brother by his father and mother, to the exclusion of his brothers by his father alone.

- Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī
machine translationThe scholars of hadith refrained from affirming this because al-Ḥārith al-Aʿwar was alone in narrating it from ʿAlī, and al-Ḥārith's report is not taken as evidence because the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) criticized him. [The beginning of the sentence is incomplete in the Arabic: "mtināʿ" seems to be "imtināʿ".]
