حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ:

" إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ الْمُسْلِمُ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنْ قَعَدَ قَعَدَ مَغْفُورًا لَهُ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى كَانَتْ لَهُ فَضِيلَةً "، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَوْ نَافِلَةً ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا كَانَتِ النَّوَافِلُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ

Translation

✧ When a Muslim performs ablution and does it well, then if he sits, he sits forgiven, and if he prays, it is a merit for him.” It was said to him, “Or a supererogatory prayer?” He said, “Supererogatory prayers were only for the Prophet ﷺ.”
