حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَزَادَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ أَوَ نَقَصَ قَالَ مَنْصُورٌ وَإِنَّمَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّاسِي ذَاكَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ أَوَ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ وَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَحَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «لَا» فَذُكِرَ لَهُ الَّذِي صَنَعَ فَثَنَى رِجْلَهُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَوْ حَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ نَبَّأْتُكُمْ وَلَكِنِّي بَشَرٌ مِثْلَكُمْ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ فَإِذَا نَسِيتُ فَذَكِّرُونِي وَأَيُّكُمْ مَا شَكَّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحْرَى بِذَلِكَ الصَّوَابُ فَلْيُتِمَّ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ وَيَسْجُدُ سَجْدَتَيْنِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us and then increased in his prayer or decreased. Mansur said, ‘It is Ibrahim who forgot, whether from ‘Alqamah or ‘Alqamah from ‘Abdullah b. Mas‘ud.’ ‘Abdullah said: ‘When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer and turned his face toward us, we said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, has something new occurred in the prayer?’ He said, ‘No.’ Then what he had done was mentioned to him, so he bent his leg, faced the qiblah, and prostrated twice. Then he turned away and said, ‘If something new had occurred in the prayer, I would have informed you. But I am a human being like you; I forget as you forget. So if I forget, remind me. And if any of you doubts his prayer, let him seek what is right, complete it upon that, then say the salam and prostrate twice.’’
