حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
«كَانَتْ مِنَّا امْرَأَةٌ فِينَا تَجْعَلُ فِي مَزْرَعَةٍ لَهَا سِلْقًا وَكَانَتْ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ تَنْزِعُ أُصُولَ السِّلْقِ فَتَجْعَلُهُ فِي قِدْرٍ ثُمَّ تَجْعَلُ عَلَيْهِ قَبْضَةً مِنْ شَعِيرٍ تَطْبُخُهُ فَيَكُونُ أُصُولُ السِّلْقِ غُرَافَةً» قَالَ سَهْلٌ «فَكُنَّا نَنْصَرِفُ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَنُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهَا فَتُقَرِّبُ ذَلِكَ الطَّعَامَ إِلَيْنَا فَكُنَّا نَتَمَنَّى يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ لِطَعَامِهَا ذَلِكَ»

✧ There was a woman among us who used to plant chard in a field of hers. On Fridays she would pull up the chard roots, put them in a pot, then add a handful of barley and cook it; the chard roots became a stew. Sahl said: We would go to her after the Friday prayer, greet her, and she would bring that food to us. We used to look forward to Friday because of that food of hers.
