حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
«هُشِّمَتِ الْبَيْضَةُ عَلَى رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَومَ أُحُدٍ وَكُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَّتُهُ وَجُرِحَ وَجْهُهُ فَكَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَغْسِلُ عَنْهُ الدَّمَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ يَأْتِيهَا بِالْمَاءِ فَلَمَّا أَصَابَ الْجُرْحَ الْمَاءُ كَثُرَ دَمُهُ فَلَمْ يَرْقَأِ الدَّمُ حَتَّى أَخَذَتْ قِطْعَةً مِنْ حَصِيرٍ فَأَحْرَقَتْهُ حَتَّى عَادَ رَمَادًا ثُمَّ جَعَلَتْ عَلَى الْجُرْحِ فَرَقَأَ الدَّمُ»

✧ The helmet was shattered on the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Uhud, his front tooth was broken, and his face was wounded. Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, was washing the blood from him while Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ brought her water. When the water reached the wound, his bleeding increased and did not stop until she took a piece of a mat, burned it until it became ashes, and then placed it on the wound, and the bleeding stopped.
