حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

آخَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ قُرَيْشٍ وَالْأَنْصَارِ فَآخَى بَيْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ سَعْدٌ إِنَّ لِي مَالًا فَهِيَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ شَطْرَانِ وَلِي امْرَأَتَانِ فَانْظُرْ أَيُّهُمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ فَأَنَا أُطَلِّقُهَا فَإِذَا حَلَّتْ فَتَزَوَّجْهَا فَقَالَ بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِي أَهْلِكَ وَمَالِكَ دُلُّونِي عَلَى السُّوقِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى رَجَعَ بِتَمْرٍ وَأَقِطٍ ثُمَّ أَفْضَلَهُ وَرَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيْهِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ «مَهْيَمْ؟» فَقُلْتُ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ «مَا سُقْتَ إِلَيْهَا؟» قَالَ وَزْنَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between the Quraysh and the Anṣār, and he established brotherhood between Saʿd b. al-Rabīʿ and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf. Saʿd said to him: “I have wealth, so it is between me and you in two halves. I have two wives, so look at which of them you prefer, and I will divorce her, and when she becomes lawful, marry her.” He said: “May Allah bless you in your family and wealth. Show me the market.” He did not return until he came back with dates and aqit, then he increased. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw on him a trace of yellow perfume and said: “Mahyam?” He said: “I married a woman from the Anṣār.” He said: “What did you give her as a dowry?” He said: “The weight of a date stone of gold.” He said: “Hold a wedding feast, even if with one sheep.”
