حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ ابْنُ عَوْفٍ دَفَعَهُ إِلَى سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ فَقَالَ «هَذَا أَخُوكَ» فَانْقَلَبَ بِهِ فَعَشَّاهُ وَفَرَشَ لَهُ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ غَدَا سَعْدٌ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْسَنُ الْأَنْصَارِ امْرَأَتَيْنِ وَأَفْضَلُ الْأَنْصَارِ حَائِطَيْنِ فَانْظُرْ إِلَى امْرَأَتَيَّ فَأَيَّتُهُمَا كَانَتْ أَعْجَبَ إِلَيْكَ طَلَّقْتُهَا لَكَ فَإِنَّ أَهْلَهَا لَمْ يَعْصُونِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَى أَيِّ حَائِطَيَّ شِئْتَ فَخُذْ فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ received Ibn Awf, he handed him over to Sa'd b. al-Rabi' and said, “This is your brother.” So he took him away, gave him supper, and spread bedding for him. When morning came, Sa'd went to 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf and greeted him. He said, “I am the best of the Ansar in wives and the best of the Ansar in gardens. Look at my two wives: whichever of them pleases you, I will divorce her for you, for her family will not disobey me. And look at whichever of my two gardens you wish, and take it.” But he accepted nothing from him.
