حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي ضَمْضَمُ بْنُ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا وَلَجَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِاسْمِ اللهِ وَلَجْنَا وَباسْمِ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to say: When a man enters his house, let him say: “O God, I ask You for the best of entering and the best of exiting. In the name of God we enter, and in the name of God we exit, and upon God our Lord we rely.” Then he should greet himself.
