حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْقَزَّازُ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ مَوْلَاهُ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ
بَيْنَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَلْقَةٍ إِذْ جَاءَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ فأَمَّا رَجُلٌ فَوَجَدَ فُرْجَةً فِي الْحَلْقَةِ فَقَعَدَ فِيهَا وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَقَعَدَ خَلْفَ الْحَلْقَةِ وَأَمَّا رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَمَضَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنِ الثَّلَاثَةِ؟ أَمَّا الَّذِي جَلَسَ فِي الْحَلْقَةِ فَرَجُلٌ أَوَى فَآوَاهُ اللهُ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي جَلَسَ خَلْفَ الْحَلْقَةِ فَرَجُلٌ اسْتَحْيَى فَاسْتَحْيَى اللهُ مِنْهُ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي أَعْرَضَ فَأَعْرَضَ اللهُ عَنْهُ»

✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a circle, three persons came. One man found a gap in the circle and sat in it. Another sat behind the circle. Another man went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Shall I inform you about the three? As for the one who sat in the circle, he is a man who sought refuge, so Allah gave him refuge. As for the one who sat behind the circle, he is a man who was shy, so Allah was shy of him. As for the one who turned away, Allah turned away from him.”
