حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ الدَّلَّالُ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ
كُنَّا نَأْتِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِذْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الْوَحْيُ فَيُحَدِّثُنَا فَقَالَ لَنَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا لَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ إِلَيْهِ ثَانٍ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لَهُ وَادِيَيْنِ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ الثَّالِثُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

✧ We used to come to the Prophet ﷺ when revelation descended upon him, and he would speak to us. One day he said to us, 'If the son of Adam had a valley, he would love to have a second. If he had two valleys, he would love to have a third. Nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust. Then Allah turns to whoever repents.'
