حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ شِبْلٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ رَآنِي الْحَكَمُ قَالَ
النُّعْمَانُ أُرَاهُ الْغِفَارِيَّ وَأَنَا آكُلُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ مِنْ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَأْكُلْ هَكَذَا هَكَذَا يَأْكُلُ الشَّيْطَانُ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا وَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَصْعَةِ أَوْ فِي الْإِنَاءِ لَمْ تُجَاوِزْ أَصَابِعُهُ مَوْضِعَ كَفِّهِ»

✧ Al-Nu'man, I think he is al-Ghifari, said: I was eating, while I was a boy, from here and from there. He said, 'O my son, do not eat like this; this is how Satan eats. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his hand in the bowl or vessel, his fingers did not go beyond the place of his palm.'
