✧ to them both, "Do not hurry until I come out to you both." He said: Ḥakīm b. Ḥizām used to wear clothes brought from Egypt like nets, worth four dirhams, and take a staff in his hand and go out with a servant of his. Whenever he passed by a rubbish heap or sweepings and saw in it a scrap of cloth suitable for the gear of the camels that he loaded for the cause of God, he picked it up with the tip of his staff, shook it, then said to his two servants, "Take hold of it, you two can use it for your gear." The two Bedouins, while he was doing that, one of them said to his companion, "Woe to you, let us escape. By God, this one has nothing but picking up scraps." His companion said to him, "Woe to you, do not hurry until we see." He went out with them until he brought them to the market. He looked at two fine, fat, pregnant she-camels and bought them and bought their gear. Then he said to his two servants, "Repair with these scraps what needs repair of their gear." Then he loaded them with food, wheat, and fat, gave them spending money, then gave them the two she-camels." He said: one of them said to his companion, "By God, I have never seen a better day from a picker of scraps than today."
