حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ زِيَادٍ حِينَ أُتِيَ بِرَأْسِ الْحُسَيْنِ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ بِقَضِيبٍ فِي أَنْفِهِ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِثْلَ هَذَا حُسْنًا فَقُلْتُ «أَمَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنْ أَشْبَهِهِمْ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

Translation

  1. Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥaḍramī

✧ I was with Ibn Ziyad when the head of al-Husayn was brought, and he began saying, poking with a stick in his nose, "I have not seen anything as beautiful as this." I said, "Indeed, he was among the most similar of them to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
