حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا أُتِيَ بِرَأْسِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ إِلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ جَعَلَ يَنْكُتُ بِقَضِيبٍ فِي يَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ لَحَسَنَ الثَّغْرِ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ لَأَسُوءَنَّكَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ مَوْضِعَ قَضِيبِكَ مِنْ فِيهِ

Translation

✧ When the head of al-Husayn b. Ali was brought to Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad, he began poking it with a stick in his hand and saying, "Indeed he had beautiful teeth." I said, "By Allah, I will displease you: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing the place where your stick is, from his mouth."
