حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كُرَيْبًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ عَلَيْهَا بَاكِرًا وَهِيَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ تَدْعُو ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهَا قَرِيبًا مِنْ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ فَقَالَ «مَا زِلْتِ عَلَى ذَلِكَ؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكِ كَلِمَاتٍ تَعْدِلُهُنَّ وَرِقَابٌ أوْوَزْنُهُنَّ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ ثَلَاثًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رِضَى نَفْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ ثَلَاثًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ وَكَانَتِ اسْمُهَا بُرَّةَ فَسَمَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جُوَيْرِيَةَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by her early in the morning while she was praying in the mosque. Then he passed by her again close to midday and asked, "Are you still doing the same thing?" She replied, "Yes." He said, "Shall I teach you some words that are equivalent to freeing slaves? They are: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) the number of His creations three times, Subhan Allah satisfaction with Himself three times, Subhan Allah the weight of His Throne three times, and Subhan Allah the ink of His words." Her name was Burrah, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named her Juwayriyah.
