✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us; Isa b. Yunus narrated to us from Umar b. Sa'id from Ibn Abi Mulaykah that Abu Amr Dhakwan, the freed slave of Aisha, informed him that Aisha said: 'Among the blessings Allah bestowed upon me is that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken in death in my house, on my day, and between my chest and neck, and that Allah joined my saliva with his at the moment of death.' She said, 'My brother Abd al-Rahman entered upon me while I was supporting the Messenger of Allah ﷺ against my chest, and in his hand was a siwak. He began looking at it, so I said, "Shall I take it for you?" He gestured with his head, yes. So I softened it for him, then I handed it to him, and he passed it over his teeth. In front of him was a small leather water container—or she said a wooden bowl—with water in it. He began dipping his hand in it, then wiping his face and saying, "There is no god but Allah. Death has its agonies." Then he raised his hand and said, "In the highest company," until he was taken, and his hand fell ﷺ.'
