حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى وإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي حَسَّانَ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ قَالَا أَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ الدَّرَفْسِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي قَسِيمَةَ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ

أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي الصُّفَّةِ وَهُمْ عِشْرُونَ رَجُلًا فَأَصَابَنَا جُوعٌ وَكُنْتُ أَحْدَثَ الْقَوْمَ سِنًّا فَبَعَثُونِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ جُوعَهُمْ فَالْتَفَتَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ هَلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ هَهُنَا كِسْرَةٌ وَشَيْءٌ مِنْ لَبَنٍ قَالَ «ائْتِنِي بِهِ» فَفَتَّ الْكِسْرَةَ فَتًّا رَقِيقًا ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَيْهَا اللَّبَنَ ثُمَّ حَمَلَهُ بِيَدِهِ حَتَّى جَعَلَهُ كالثريدِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا وَاثِلَةُ ادْعُ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ وَخَلِّفْ عَشَرَةً» فَفَعَلْتُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اجْلِسُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ» فَجَلَسُوا فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَأْسِ الثَّرِيدِ وَقَالَ «كُلُوا مِنْ حَوَالَيْهَا بِسْمِ اللهِ إِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ تَأْتِيهَا مِنْ فَوْقِهَا وَلِأَنَّهَا تُمَدُّ» قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ يَتَخَلَّلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ حَتَّى ثَمِلُوا شِبَعًا فَلَمَّا انْتَهَوْا قَالَ لَهُمْ «انْصَرَفُوا إِلَى مَكَانِكُمْ فَابْعَثُوا إِلَيَّ أَصْحَابَكُمْ» فَقُمْتُ مُتَعَجِّبًا لِمَا رَأَيْتُ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَى الْعَشَرَةِ فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى ثَمِلُوا شِبَعًا وَإِنَّ فِيهَا لَفَضْلَةً

✧ He narrated to him, saying: I was in the Suffah, and they were twenty men. We were struck by hunger, and I was the youngest of the group, so they sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to complain to him of their hunger. He looked around in his house and said, "Is there anything?" They said, "Yes, here is a piece of bread and some milk." He said, "Bring it to me." He crumbled the bread into fine crumbs, then poured the milk over it, then carried it in his hand until he made it like tharid. Then he said, "O Wathilah, call ten of your companions for me and leave ten behind." I did so. Then he said, "Sit down. In the name of Allah." They sat down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the top of the tharid and said, "Eat from around it. In the name of Allah. Indeed, blessing comes to it from above it, and because it is replenished." He said: I saw them eating, picking between their fingers until they became full with satiety. When they had finished, he said to them, "Depart to your place and send your companions to me." I stood up, amazed at what I had seen. Then he turned to the ten and commanded them similarly, and they ate until they became full with satiety, and there was still some left in it.
