حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ مَعَهُ يُوصِيهِ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ أَهْلَ بَيْتِي هَؤُلَاءِ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ إِنَّ أَوْلِيَائِيَ مِنْكُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ مَنْ كَانُوا أَوْ حَيْثُ كَانُوا اللهُمَّ إِنِّي لَا أُحِلُّ لَهُمْ فَسَادَ مَا أَصْلَحْتَ وَأَيْمُ اللهِ لَتُكْفَأُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى دِينِهَا كَمَا يُكْفَأُ الْإِنَاءُ فِي الْبَطْحَاءِ»

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with him, advising him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned toward Madinah and said: “Indeed these people of my household think that they are the closest of people to me, but it is not so. My allies among you are the God-fearing, whoever they may be and wherever they may be. O Allah, I do not permit for them the corruption of what You have set right. By Allah, my nation will be overturned from its religion just as a vessel is overturned in the wide watercourse.”
