حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا حَرِيزُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ
أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَأَبْطَأَ عَلَيْنَا حَتَّى قَالَ قَائِلٌ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ وَالْقَلِيلُ يَقُولُ يَخْرُجُ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَعْتِمُوا بِهَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَدْ فُضِّلْتُمْ بِهَا عَلَى سَائِرِ الْأُمَمِ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّهَا أَحَدٌ قَبْلَكُمْ»

✧ We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the Isha prayer, and he delayed it for us until someone said: "He has prayed and did not come out, and few people said that he will come out." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and said, "Take this prayer as a means of darkness, for you have been given preference with it over the rest of the nations, and no one before you has prayed it."
