حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ثنا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْمُهَلَّبِ أَنَّ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ حَدَّثَهُ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ زَنَتْ فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ حَمَلَتْ مِنَ الزِّنَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلِيَّهَا فَقَالَ «أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ مَا فِي بَطْنِهَا فَائْتِنِي بِهَا» فَفَعَلَ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأُمْسِكَتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ «تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ؟» فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَسِعَتْهُمْ وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ ﷻ»

✧ That a woman from Juhaynah committed adultery, and she came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after she had become pregnant from the adultery and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have incurred a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called her guardian and said, “Treat her well, and when she delivers what is in her womb bring her to me.” He did so, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that her clothes be held fast around her, then ordered that she be stoned, and she was stoned. Then he prayed over her. ʿUmar said to him, “You pray over her when she has committed adultery?” He said, “She has repented with such a repentance that if it were divided among seventy of the people of Madinah it would suffice them. Have you found anything better than her offering her own self to Allah, Mighty and Exalted?”
