حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالُوا أنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا قِلَابَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلِيَّ وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ فَأَمَرَ وَلِيَّهَا أَنْ يُحْسِنَ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَضَعَ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ أَمَرَ بِثِيَابِهَا فَشُكَّتَ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ رَجَمَهَا وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَتُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ؟ فَقَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ عَلَى سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ ﷻ»

✧ That a woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “I have incurred a prescribed punishment, so carry it out on me,” and she was pregnant. He ordered her guardian to treat her well until she gave birth. When she gave birth, he ordered that her clothes be fastened around her, then he stoned her and prayed over her. ʿUmar said, “O Prophet of Allah, do you pray over her when she has committed adultery?” He said, “By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muḥammad, she has repented with such a repentance that if it were divided among seventy of the people of Madinah it would suffice them. Have you found anything better than her offering her own self to Allah, Mighty and Exalted?”
