حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ
تَزَوَّجْتُ بِنْتَ أَبِي إِهَابٍ التَّيْمِيِّ فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ صَبِيحَةَ مِلْكِهَا جَاءَتْ مَوْلَاةٌ لِأَهْلِي بِمَكَّةَ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا فَرَكِبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بالمدينَةِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ وَقُلْتُ لَقَدْ سَأَلْتُ أَهْلَ الْجَارِيَةِ فَأَنْكَرُوا قَالَ «كَيْفَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ» قَالَ فَفَارَقْتُهَا وَنَكَحْتُ غَيْرَهَا

✧ I married the daughter of Abi Ihab al-Taymi. On the morning after taking possession of her, a freedwoman of my family in Makkah came and said, “I breastfed both of you.” So I rode to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in Madinah and mentioned that to him. I said, “I asked the girl’s family, and they denied it.” He said, “How, when it has already been said?” He said: So I separated from her and married another.
