حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ
وَحَدَّثَنِي صَاحِبٌ لِي وَأَنَا لِحَدِيثِ صَاحِبِي حَافَظٌ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ أُمَّ يَحْيَى بِنْتَ أَبِي إِهَابٍ فَدَخَلَتْ عَلَيْنَا امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْهُمَا جَمِيعًا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ فَقَالَ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ أَنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ وَقَدْ قَالَتْ مَا قَالَتْ دَعْهَا عَنْكَ»

✧ A companion of mine narrated to me—and I am mindful of my companion’s hadith—he said: I married Umm Yahya bt. Abi Ihab. A black woman entered upon us and claimed that she had breastfed both of them together. So I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, but he turned away from me. I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, but he turned away from me. I mentioned that to him, but he turned away from me. So I said, “She is lying.” He said, “What makes you know she is lying, when she has said what she said? Leave her.”
