حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمُسْتَمْلِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أُمِّهِ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ
أَنَّ الرَّهْطَ الَّذِينَ بَعَثَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُقَيْقِ لِيَقْتُلُوهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُنَيسٍ وَأَبُو قَتَادَةَ وَحَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَأَنَّهُمْ قَدِمُوا خَيبرَ لَيْلًا فَعَمَدْنَا إِلَى أَبْوَابِهِمْ نُغَلِّقُهَا مِنْ خَارِجٍ قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ ابْنِ أَبِي الْحُقَيْقِ إِنَّ هَذَا لَصَوْتُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ قَالَ افْتَحِي فَفَتَحَتْ فَدَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ دُونَكَ فَذَهَبْتُ لِأَضْرِبَهَا بِالسَّيْفِ فَأَذْكُرُ نَهْيَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ قَتْلِ النِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ فَأَكُفُّ عَنْهَا قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُنَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ وَلَيْسَ بِالْجُهَنِيِّ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُنَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ

✧ That the group whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to ʿAbdullah b. Abi al-Huqayq to kill him were ʿAbdullah b. ʿAtik, ʿAbdullah b. Unays, Abu Qatadah, an ally of theirs, and a man from the Ansar. They arrived at Khaybar at night and went to their doors, locking them from outside. The wife of Ibn Abi al-Huqayq said, “This is the voice of ʿAbdullah b. ʿAtik.” He said, “Open up.” She opened, and I and ʿAbdullah b. ʿAtik entered. ʿAbdullah said, “Go ahead.” I went to strike her with the sword, but I remembered the prohibition of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ against killing women and children, so I refrained from her. ʿAli b. al-Madini said: This is ʿAbdullah b. Unays al-Ansari, not al-Juhani. This is the ʿAbdullah b. Unays al-Ansari from whom Jabir b. ʿAbdullah narrated.
