حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ الْبَرَاءُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ثنا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ
قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ وَإِنَّا لَا نَصِلُ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا فِي أَشْهُرِ الْحُرُمِ فَمُرْنَا بِأَمْرٍ نَنْتَهِي إِلَيْهِ وَنَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ مَنْ وَرَاءَنَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعٌ وَأَرْبَعٌ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَإِقَامُ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ وَصَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ وَخُمُسُ مَا غَنِمْتُمْ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ

✧ The delegation of Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are disbelievers from the tribe of Mudar between us and you, and we can only come to you during the sacred months. So give us a command that we can convey to those behind us and invite them to it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Tell them that there are four testimonies: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, establishing prayer, giving zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and paying one-fifth of what you have acquired. And I prohibit you from drinking the wine of grapes, and from the wine of dates, and from the wine of barley and wheat."
