✧ I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt Maymunah bt. al-Harith, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and I said, "I will certainly memorize the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and how he performs it." He came from the mosque, went to a corner of the house, relieved himself, then came to the water skin, loosened its strap, and washed his face and hands. Then he lay down and remained as long as Allah willed. Then he got up, went to a corner of the house, then came to the water skin, loosened its strap, and performed a wudu between two wudus, not using much water but making the wudu complete. Then he came to the mosque. He said: I did as he had done, then I came and stood on his left. He took my hand, pulled it from behind me, and placed me on his right. He prayed eight rak'ahs, then prayed three rak'ahs of witr, then prayed two rak'ahs, then said: "O Allah, grant me light in my heart, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light in my hair, light in my skin, light in my flesh, light in my blood, light in front of me, light behind me, light on my right, light on my left, light below me, and light above me. O Allah, give me light, grant me light, and magnify light for me."
