✧ About the near of kin whom Allah mentioned in the Qur'an, about killing the children of the polytheists, and whether the Prophet ﷺ used to kill them, about when the orphanhood of an orphan ends, and about the slave and the woman who witness battle. He said: If I did not fear that he would fall into something evil, I would not write to him. So he wrote regarding the near of kin: We used to consider the kin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to be them, but our people denied us that. As for the orphan, when he reaches marriageable age and sound judgment is observed in them, his property is handed over to him, and his orphanhood has ended. As for the children, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not kill the children of the polytheists, and you should not kill them unless you know what al-Khidr knew about the boy when he killed him. Regarding the slave and the woman, do they have a share if they witness battle? He wrote to him that they have no fixed share, unless they are given something from the spoils of the people.
