حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ النُّمَيْرِيُّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَيْلِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ أَنَّ نَجْدَةَ الْحَرُورِيَّ حِينَ حَجَّ فِي فِتْنَةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْأَلُهُ
عَنْ سَهْمِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَقُولُ لِمَنْ يَرَاهُ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هُوَ لِقُرْبَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَسَمَهُ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ كَانَ عُمَرُ عَرَضَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ ذَلِكَ عَرْضًا رَأَيْنَاهُ دُونَ حَقِّنَا فَرَدَدْنَاهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَبَيْنَا أَنْ نَقْبَلَهُ وَكَانَ عَرَضَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُعِينَ نَاكِحَهُمْ وَأَنْ يَقْضِيَ عَنْ غَارِمِهِمْ وَأَنْ يُعْطِيَ فَقِيرَهُمْ وَأَبَى أَنْ يَزِيدَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

✧ About the share of the near of kin, and he says: To whom does he think it should go? Ibn Abbas said: It is for the kin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided it among them. Umar had offered us something from that which we considered less than our right, so we returned it to him and refused to accept it. He had offered to help their newlyweds, pay off their debtors, and give to their poor, but he refused to give them more than that.
