حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْعُرْسَ بْنَ عَمِيرَةَ الْكِنْدِيَّ، ؓ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
إِنَّ الْمَرْءَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ الْبُرْهَةَ مِنْ دَهْرِهِ، ثُمَّ تُعْرَضُ لَهُ الْجَادَّةُ مِنْ جَوَادِّ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَيَعْمَلُ بِهَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَيْهَا وَذَلِكَ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْبُرْهَةَ مِنْ دَهْرِهِ، ثُمَّ تُعْرَضُ لَهُ الْجَادَّةُ مِنْ جَوَادِّ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَيَعْمَلُ بِهَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَيْهَا وَذَلِكَ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ

And a man may do the deeds of the people of Paradise for a period of his life, then the path of the people of the Fire is presented to him, and he acts upon it until he dies upon it, and that is what was decreed for him.
