حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ: نَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: نَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مِنْ لَهُوِ الدُّنْيَا بَاطِلٌ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَةً: انْتِضَالُكَ بِقَوْسِكَ، أَوْ تَأْدِيبُكَ فَرَسَكَ، وَمُلَاعَبَتُكَ أَهْلَكَ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ مِنَ الْحَقِّ " وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: انْتَضِلُوا وَارْكَبُوا، وَأَنْ تَنْتَضِلُوا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ، وَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُدْخِلُ بِالسَّهْمِ الْوَاحِدِ ثَلَاثَةً الْجَنَّةَ: صَانِعُهُ مُحْتَسِبٌ فِيهِ، وَالْمُمِدُّ بِهِ، وَالرَّامِي بِهِ، وَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُدْخِلُ بِلُقْمَةِ الْخُبْزِ، وَقَبْضَةِ التَّمْرِ، وَمِثْلِهِ مِمَّا يَنْتَفِعُ بِهِ الْمِسْكِينُ ثَلَاثَةً الْجَنَّةَ: رَبُّ الْبَيْتِ الْآمِرُ بِهِ، وَالزَّوْجَةُ تُصْلِحُهُ، وَالْخَادِمُ الَّذِي يُنَاوِلُ الْمِسْكِينَ "، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَنْسَ خَدَمَنَا

✧ All worldly amusement is futile except three things: your shooting with your bow, training your horse, and playing with your family, for they are from the truth. And the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Shoot and ride, and that you shoot is more beloved to me. God, Mighty and Majestic, will admit three people to Paradise because of a single arrow: its maker, who seeks reward in it; the one who gives it; and the one who shoots it. And God, Mighty and Majestic, will admit three to Paradise because of a morsel of bread, a handful of dates, and the like of what benefits the poor: the master of the house who commands it, the wife who prepares it, and the servant who hands it to the poor.' Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Praise be to God who has not forgotten our servants.'

They both said: This is a mistake, in which Suwayd erred. Rather, it is from Ibn ʿAjlān, from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Ḥusayn, who said: It reached me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said... and he mentioned it. This is how al-Layth, Ḥātim b. Ismāʿīl and a group narrated it, and this is the correct form, as a mursal report.
