حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ: نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ قَالَ: نَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنِ الصَّلْتِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ:
نُهِينَا عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا، وَأُمِرْنَا بِالْخُرُوجِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى، وَأَنْ يَخْرُجَ ذَوَاتُ الْخُدُورِ وَالْحُيَّضُ وَيُنَحَّى الْحُيَّضُ عَنْ مُصَلَّى النَّاسِ، لِيَشْهَدْنَ جَمَاعَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَدَعْوَتَهُمْ
Translation

✧ We were forbidden to follow funerals, but it was not made emphatic upon us, and we were commanded to go out on the day of Fitr and the day of Adha, and that the women in seclusion and the menstruating women should go out, and the menstruating women should be kept away from the prayer place of the people, so that they may witness the gathering of the Muslims and their supplication.
