✧ Two men traveled through a vast desert: a worshipper and another who was given to wrongdoing. The worshipper became so thirsty that he collapsed, and his companion kept looking at him, having a small container with some water. He kept looking at him while he lay prostrate and said: By God, if this righteous servant dies of thirst while I have water, I will never attain any good from God; and if I give him my water to drink, I will surely die. So he put his trust in God and resolved, and he sprinkled some of his water on him and gave him the rest to drink. He got up and they crossed the desert. Then on the Day of Resurrection, the one given to wrongdoing will be brought to account and ordered to the Fire. The angels will drive him, and he will see the worshipper and say: O so-and-so, do you not know me? He will say: And who are you? He will say: I am so-and-so who preferred you over myself on the day of the desert. He will say: Yes, I know you. He will say to the angels: Stop. They will stop, and he will come and stand, and he will call upon his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, saying: O Lord, You know the favour he did me, and how he preferred me over himself. O Lord, grant him to me. He will say to him: He is yours. He will come and take his brother by the hand and enter him into Paradise.
