وَبِهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:
كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ، فَأَتَتْنَا ضَبَابَةٌ فَرَّقَتْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " أَيْنَ النَّاسُ ؟ قُلْتُ: فَرَّقَتْ بَيْنَهُمُ الضَّبَابَةُ قَالَ: " قُلْ ". قُلْتُ: مَا أَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا "، فَقُلْتُهَا، فَقَالَ: " مَا تَعَوَّذَ النَّاسُ وَالْخَلْقُ بِمِثْلِهَا

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on the road to Makkah when a fog came upon us and separated the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Where are the people? I said: The fog has separated them. He said: Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak until he completed it. I said it, and he said: The people and creation have never sought refuge with the like of it.
