حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ قَالَ: نَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ قَالَ:
أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكَ إِلَى مَا نَبَّأَنِي عَلِيٌّ ؟ قَالَ: فِيهِمْ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ، أَوْ مُثَدَّنُ الْيَدِ، أَوْ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ، لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَأَنْبَأْتُكُمْ مَا وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قُلْنَا: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ، حَتَّى قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا

✧ Shall I not tell you what 'Ali told me? He said: Among them is one with a defective hand, or a stunted hand, or a hand cut short. Were it not that you would become proud (or heedless), I would inform you of what God has promised those who fight them on the tongue of Muhammad ﷺ. We said: Did you hear it from the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah—he said it three times.
