حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا كَهْمَسُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ:
كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ يَتْلُو عَلَيَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لا يَحْتَسِبُ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ فَجَعَلَ يُعِيدُهَا عَلَيَّ حَتَّى نَعَسْتُ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ، كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخْرِجْتَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ؟ قُلْتُ: إِلَى السَّعَةِ وَالدَّعَةِ أَنْطَلِقُ، فَأَنْطَلِقُ فَأَكُونُ حَمَامَةً مِنْ حَمَامَةِ الْحَرَمِ، قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخْرِجْتَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ ؟ " قُلْتُ: إِلَى السَّعَةِ وَالدَّعَةِ، إِلَى الشَّامِ وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ، قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخْرِجْتَ مِنَ الشَّامِ ؟ " قُلْتُ: إِذًا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ أَضَعَ سَيْفِي عَلَى عَاتِقِي، قَالَ: " أَوْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ تَسْمَعُ وَتُطِيعُ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَبْدًا حَبَشِيًّا
Translation

✧ The Prophet of God ﷺ used to recite to me this verse: 'And whoever fears God, He will make for him a way out, and provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever puts his trust in God, then He is sufficient for him' (Quran 65:2-3). He kept repeating it to me until I dozed off. Then he said: 'O Abu Dharr, how will you act when you are expelled from Madinah?' I said: 'I will go to ease and comfort, and I will be like one of the doves of the Haram.' He said: 'How will you act when you are expelled from Makkah?' I said: 'To ease and comfort, to Syria and the Holy Land.' He said: 'How will you act when you are expelled from Syria?' I said: 'Then, by the One who sent you with the truth, I will place my sword upon my shoulder.' He said: 'Or better than that: you will hear and obey, even if he is an Abyssinian slave.'
